HDFC Asian Under-14 Ranking (*New)

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Shaishya Tennis Academy will host the HDFC Asian Under-14 Series Tournament from 18th to 23rd May.

This is one of the few international regional (Asian) level tournament to be held in Ahmedabad or Gujarat. The last Asian Ranking tournament in Ahmedabad was held in November 2013 and before that in May 2009.

The tournament, organized and hosted by Shaishya Tennis Academy (STA) is approved by Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) & the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and is conducted under the aegis of Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA). Mr Joy Mukherjee (Kolkata) will be the Asian Tennis Federation Tournament Referee and Mr Shrimal Bhatt will be the Tournament Director and Tournament Coordinator will be Mr Devinder Singh Bhusari .

Some of the best players of the country, boys & girls in the Under-14 Category will be participating in the tournament. This tournament will help the top players from the state & nation to garner International (Asian) ranking points and while at the same time it offers the younger players a great opportunity to participate and watch an international level tournament.

Around 71 players have submitted their entry for the tournament with entries from Indian players & a player from Iran & Malaysia each. There are a couple of Indian origin players who will be representing Australia & USA.

The tournament features a unique Compass Draw (non-elimination) format for the singles, featuring 32 players the main draw of each of the categories (Boys & Girls). The tournament will also have a doubles competition in the knock-out (elimination) format, featuring 16 teams.

The top two seeds in the Boys U-14 Category are: 1.Vandit Jaiswal (MP) – Asian Rank of 19 and 2. Dhrumil Thakkar(GUJ), Asian rank of 23 whereas the 3rd seed is Darrshan Suresh from Malaysia (Asian rank of 29) and famous players from Gujarat will be Kevin Patel, Dev Javia & Mann Shah . The top seed in the Girls U-14 Category will be Shrivalli Rashmika – Asian ranking 89, 2nd seed will be Pandya Bhalla – Asian ranking of 129, whereas Aesha Patel (seeded 4th) and Bhakti Parwani will spearhed Gujarat’s challenge in the tournament.

The Main Draw matches of the tournament will start from Monday 18th May and the tournament will conclude with the Finals on 23rd May. The qualifying matches will be held on 16th and 17th May. Matches will be played at the unique shaded courts of Shaishya Tennis Academy.
